As a freshman at Brigham Young University, I joined the BYU Rocketry Club, the Utah Rocket Club, and the Tripoli Rocketry Association. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic I obtained my level 1, 2, and 3 high power rocketry certifications through the Tripoli Rocketry Association.
I worked with two experienced mentors from the Tripoli Rocketry Association to design, build, test, and fly a
8 foot tall, 41 pound high power rocket to successfully obtain my Level 3 High Power Rocketry Certification through the Tripoli Rocketry Association.

As a result of this project, I gained a better understanding of new manufacturing processes and materials. The processes used included lathes, mills, CNC machining, waterjet, composites, laser cutting, and additive manufacturing.
The Level 3 Certification launch was successful and resulted in no damage to the rocket during or after the flight. The project was a success and enabled me to represent the BYU Rocketry High Power Team as the Flyer of Record at the 2022 Spaceport America Cup and will enable me to continue to assist the BYU Rocketry Competition teams to launch larger high power rockets in the future.
Flight Details:
